SIBU: Two men narrowly escaped a fiery fate when their car caught fire at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here at the early hours of dawn on Sunday.
Both individuals suffered no injuries as they managed to run to safety before the fire erupted.
According to Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department chief Andy Alie, a team from the Sibu Sentral Fire and Rescue Station responded promptly to a distress call at 5.59 am.
“The team arrived at the scene to find the car engulfed in flames, while the driver and passenger had already extricated themselves,” the statement said on Sunday (Feb 16).
The operation concluded at 6.30 am.
The investigation into the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage is ongoing.
