The first incident occurred at Kampung Betong, Jalan Landeh in Padawan, where the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received an emergency call at around 4.05am.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Siburan, Kota Sentosa and Batu Lintang stations found a double-storey semi-permanent house fully engulfed in flames.
