KUCHING: Ten Sarawakians received the Productivity Champion 2022 award organised by Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) on Tuesday (Jan 25).

In the ceremony, MPC director Datuk Abdul Latif Abu Seman said the award was to recognise individuals active in improving the country’s productivity at national, industry and organisational level.

“Last year, 83 people were awarded the Productivity Champion, which covers three categories – Leader, Practitioner and Talent.

“Of the 83 people, 10 are Sarawakians who have all the characteristics that we seek.”

Abdul Latif added that the effort was to accelerate the increase in productivity that continued under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) as well as contribute to higher growth in labour productivity.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Abdul Latif hoped that many more individuals would be awarded and recognised for their efforts.

Also present was MPC board of directors member Datuk Abang Karim Tun Abang Openg.
