SIBU: Only four health clinics in Sarawak have implemented the Cloud-based Clinical Management System (CCMS) so far, with six more set to follow this year, said Federal Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.
He said these six clinics would be among the 100 health clinics nationwide scheduled to adopt CCMS in 2025.
“To date, we have rolled out CCMS in 50 health clinics across the country as part of the first phase. Four of these are in Sarawak—Sebauh Health Clinic, Tatau Health Clinic, Bintulu Health Clinic, Telaga Air Health Clinic and UTC Kuching Health Clinic.
“This year, we plan to expand CCMS to another 100 clinics, including six in Sarawak—Ba’Kelalan Health Clinic, Balai (Bakam) Health Clinic, Bario Health Clinic, Batu Danau Health Clinic, Pa’ Dallih Health Clinic, and Paloh Health Clinic,” he said.
Dr Dzulkefly spoke during a press conference at Sibu Hospital’s meeting room as part of his site visit to several health clinics today (Feb 6).
On the Sarawak government’s RM10 million allocation to support digitalisation efforts at 142 clinics across the state, he expressed his gratitude for the initiative.
“I sincerely thank Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his strong support in enabling the Ministry of Health to advance digitalisation.
“This is crucial because digitalisation helps reduce waiting times —from three hours to just 30 minutes in some cases, and in the evenings, it can cut waiting times by 15 to 30 minutes. This is exactly what the people need,” he said.
He added that digitalisation would also ensure that patient records were securely stored, easily accessible and protected from loss or damage in the event of a disaster.
Also present were Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, and Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek.
