KUCHING: The spirit of compassion was once again felt in Padungan here as Team Dynamic Kuching and Team Share Love Together continued their ongoing charitable initiative by distributing 100 vegetarian meals.
The initiative was held in conjunction with the fifteenth day of the lunar month last April 12.
This monthly event, held on both the first and 15th day of each lunar cycle, has quietly grown into a heartfelt tradition, one that not only feeds the stomach but also warms the heart.
More than just food parcels, the meals serve as symbols of solidarity and community care, particularly for vulnerable households.
The event received notable support from community leaders and government representatives.
Showing their endorsement of grassroots welfare programmes through their attendance were Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, and the officer in charge of Padungan Police Station.
MBKS councillors, Tay Tze Kok and Liew Loong Yee, also visited 17 households with disabled family members, delivering meals directly to their doorsteps.
Their visits reflected a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by these families and reinforced the importance of inclusive and people-centred community work.
“True service stems from a sincere concern for people’s daily lives, only by stepping into their world can our actions truly resonate,” said Tay.
Not only that, Liew also expressed that families with disabled members often deal with silent struggles.
“Our role is to ensure they are not forgotten,” he said.
The collaboration between Team Dynamic Kuching and Team Share Love Together continues to serve as a model for effective community engagement.
Their shared philosophy of “people first, care above all” demonstrates how consistent acts of kindness can build a more inclusive society.
As they reaffirmed their pledge to continue the initiative, the organisers called on more community members and organisations to be part of the effort, proving that even small gestures, when carried out with sincerity, can have a lasting impact.
