BEKENU: A total of 101 Form One students of SMK Bekenu took part in the school’s ‘Love Flora & Fauna’ programme held in cooperation with the State Forest Department, yesterday.
According to the school’s Senior Assistant (Student Affairs), Jaya Salleh, the programme was organised to create awareness among students on the importance of protecting and preserving nature.
“In addition, there is a need to protect and preserve nature for future generations,” he said
The programme was also attended by eight officers and staff of Sibuti office of State Forest Department.
During the programme, Jaya who represented the school’s principal Kamel Achong launched the planting of 10 tree saplings around the school’s new hall.
