MIRI: Police seized 428.6g of drugs, including dry marijuana leaves, valued at RM20,034.70 with the arrest of 11 local men in a raid on a three-storey entertainment outlet on Tuesday night.
According to the Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, all have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigation.
“We believe they are involved in drug trafficking activities,” he said in a statement on today.
“During the raid police seized 18 pills suspected to be Erimin 5 weighing 5.10 grams, one transparent plastic packet containing 15 cigarettes containing dried leaves believed to be ganja weighing 16.70 grams, one plastic container containing a white powder suspected to be ketamine weighing 44.80 grams and another plastic container containing mixed powder suspected to be Ecstasy weighing 362.00 grams,” Alexson said.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for the death penalty or life imprisonment and a minimum 15 strokes of the cane.
