LUBOK ANTU: Police arrested 11 individuals and issued 27 summonses during a crime prevention sweep carried out across Engkilili and Lubok Antu on Friday evening.
Lubok Antu Police Chief, DSP Pricha Azin, said the operation, conducted under ‘Op Tapis Khas’ and an integrated crime prevention initiative, resulted in the arrest of two local men who tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine during initial urine screenings.
Their cases are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“Nine foreign nationals, including two women, were also detained for offences under Section 26A of the ATIPSOM Act 2007, as well as Sections 6(1)(c) and 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1969/63 (Amendment 2002),” he said in a statement.
A total of 29 officers and personnel were deployed in the operations, during which 110 vehicles and 125 individuals were inspected.
Lubok Antu police said similar operations will continue to be carried out to maintain safety and public order in the district.
