11 oil stations attacked simultaneously in three southern Thai regions

PATTANI, Thailand: Eleven oil stations in three southern regions of Thailand were simultaneously attacked with explosives in an act of sabotage early on Sunday morning.

The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 (ISOC 4) said in a statement that preliminary investigations found the attacks were carried out by masked armed groups targeting five PTT oil stations in Narathiwat, four in Yala, and two in Pattani at around 1.10 am.

ISOC 4 said security forces, including police, military personnel and fire services, were deployed to the sites to control the situation and extinguish the fires immediately after the incident.

Following the incident, security forces have heightened security in and around the affected areas to the highest level.

No casualties have been reported so far. – BERNAMA
