SIBU: A total of 110,000 containers of bubur lambuk have been distributed across Sarawak as part of the ‘Gerak Rahmah Jom Masak Bubur Lambuk Perpaduan’ and ‘Lan Berambeh Sungkei 2025’ programmes.

National Unity Minister Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang said the initiative, which brings together people of different races and backgrounds, has received overwhelming support this year.

“Last year, we organised this event here as well, but the weather was not very favourable, so we were only able to gather around 15,000 visitors.

“This year, we can see that the turnout is much higher, and this is the kind of programme that we at the Ministry of Unity strive to organise.

“We are very proud because, as we can see here, regardless of race and religion, we can come together to celebrate programmes like this.

“We hope that events like these can continue in the coming years with an even larger turnout,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters at the programme, which was organised by the National Unity Ministry in collaboration with the Sibu Resident’s Office and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Nangka Service Centre at Dataran Tunku Bujang here yesterday.

Meanwhile, on a nationwide scale, Aaron stated that approximately 1.3 million servings of bubur lambuk have been prepared by 3,400 neighbourhood committees (Rukun Tetangga) so far and distributed at more than 100 locations across Malaysia.

Aaron also urged all Malaysians to continue making full use of platforms such as this programme to strengthen unity and goodwill.

“We should seize the opportunity to get to know one another, share stories and experiences, and bridge any differences.

“With the spirit of love, mutual respect, and helping one another, we can build a better society and a more prosperous nation,” he stressed.
