KUCHING: A total of 11,900 uniformed personnel and enforcement officers in Sarawak will receive the 2026 Raya Contribution Food Pack, in recognition of their dedication while on duty during the festive season.
Organised by the Sarawak Government, the programme honours security and enforcement personnel who continue to safeguard the state’s sovereignty, safety, and peace, even when away from their families during Hari Raya.
This year’s packs were prepared based on feedback from the recipient agencies and include ready-to-eat meals designed to ease officers’ duties.
Six types of items are provided: ready-to-eat food packs, instant kolok noodles, chips, nuts, three-in-one coffee, and three-in-one tea.
The Symbolic Handover Ceremony for the 2026 Raya Contribution was officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex today.
The food packs will be distributed across 11 agencies, with the Malaysian Armed Forces receiving 4,000 packs, the Royal Malaysia Police 2,400 packs, and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency 1,050 packs.
Other recipients include the Fire and Rescue Department (1,550 packs), Prison Department (450 packs), Immigration Department (550 packs), Customs Department (750 packs), Road Transport Department (550 packs), Civil Defence Force (250 packs), Malaysia Volunteers Department (250 packs), and the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (100 packs).
Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said the contribution symbolises the state government’s sincere appreciation for the sacrifices made by personnel who ensure public safety.
“Although being away from their loved ones during the festive season is difficult, these sacrifices are necessary for the sake of our beloved, sovereign, and independent state,” she said.
