SARIKEI: A total of 12 recipients received the keys to their new homes during the Rumah Spektra Permata (RSP) key handover ceremony, held recently at the Multipurpose Hall of the IAC Building here.
The ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
According to the Kuala Rajang assemblyman, the RSP initiative reflects the Sarawak government’s commitment to providing affordable housing for the people.
“Recipients must take good care of the houses given to you, considering them valuable assets for yourselves and future generations,” he said.
A total of 50 RSP units have been approved for the Kuala Rajang state constituency, with 30 units built in Susur Jambu, Sarikei, and the remaining 20 in Kampung Rajang.
The 30 completed houses in Susur Jambu cost RM7.96 million and were finished on November 30, 2024.
These houses utilise Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology to ensure better quality and durability. Each unit has a built-up area of 850 square feet and includes three bedrooms, a living room, and two bathrooms.
The project also includes road construction, a drainage system, and street lighting installation to enhance residents’ comfort and safety.
The Occupation Permit was issued by the Sarikei District Council on January 20, allowing residents to move in immediately.
