KUCHING: Premises believed to be used for online cockfighting were raided and 13 persons arrested including a 52-year-old man believed to be the manager of the premises.
Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief, SAC Dato’ Dev Kumar Sree Shunmugam said the premises located at Hui Sing Commercial Centre, Jalan Stampin here were raided by a team from CID headquarters led by ASP Shuib Abdul Samat at 8.30pm last Friday.
“Upon entering the premises, a group of people was seen watching online cockfights streamed live from overseas. The suspects, aged between 34 and 64, were arrested.
“Two laptops, one computer, two television sets, WiFi peripherals and RM194 in cash were also seized,” he said.
Dev Kumar said the manager had been remanded until August 22 to facilitate investigation under Section 4B (a) of the Common Gaming House Act, 1953.
