BAU: Thirteen men, aged between 24 and 43 years old, were arrested during early morning drug raids here on January 15.
Bau Police Chief, Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said the operation, conducted by the Bau Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) together with officers from the Bau Police Headquarters (IPD), took place between 5.00 am and 9.00 am at Taman Mutiara, Kampung Sungai Pinang, and Kampung Buan Buso.
Police found that three of the suspects were in possession of 1.30 grammes of methamphetamine.
Suspects have been detained under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while initial urine screening showed that all 13 tested positive for drugs, resulting in further detention under Section 15(1)(a) of the same act.
Haide reminded the public that any involvement in drug abuse would be dealt with strictly.
