BAU: Police arrested a teenage boy yesterday (July 16) for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Kampung Barieng, here.
Bau police chief DSP Jawai Francis Kempas said they received a police report at 1 pm on July 15 regarding the stolen motorcycle, which had been parked in front of a house.
Acting on information, a police team managed to arrest a 13-year-old boy around 12 pm in the village.
“Police also seized the motorcycle and its key, which were found hidden by the river in Kampung Barieng.
“Checks also confirmed that the motorcycle had just been reported missing,” she said.
Jawai said the boy did not have any prior records and that he will be investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for vehicle theft which provides for a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
