KUCHING: Sarawak honoured 137 individuals for their service and contributions to the state in an investiture ceremony held at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri today (June 18).
The awards were presented by the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
Leading the list of 10 recipients of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K), were the Head of the Education Bureau of the Women’s Division of the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK) Sarawak, Datin Fauziah Mardiana Sepawi, and the Director of the Institute of Sustainable and Renewable Energy (ISuRE), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Professor Ts Dr Shanti Faridah Salleh.
Also receiving honours were 20 individuals awarded the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B), including Dr Ho Ai Chia, Dr Sally Suriani Ahip, Dr Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam, and Dr Rudy Tawie Joseph Sipi.
Meanwhile, 18 individuals received the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), and another 18 were conferred the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
For the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T), a total of 39 individuals were honoured, among them Abdul Aziz Kadri, Abdul Karim Dollah, Ain Lamat, Amin Mangi, Amirul Syafiq @ Kertini Karnil, and Amir Hamzah Jahidin.
Additionally, 32 individuals were conferred the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak, Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S), including Awang Sahpura Awang Mangku, Aidel Jemat, Bohari Mohamad Zini, Chundi Jipon, and Emran Pa’ee.
Wan Junaidi expressed appreciation to all recipients for their contributions across various sectors that have helped in the development of Sarawak.
He also hopes that all recipients will continue to serve with excellence, uphold high standards of integrity, and be role models within their communities.
