KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar officiated the investiture ceremony of the Sarawak State Awards and Medals to a total of 141 recipients at the Grand Hall of the Astana Negeri, Petra Jaya.
The ceremony began with the conferment of Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C) to nine recipients, led by the Resident of Kuching Division, Dayang Joanita Azizah Awang Morshidi.
It continued with the conferment of Darjah Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S) to lecturers from the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), namely Professor Dr Edmund Sim Ui Hang and Professor Dr Khairul Adha A. Rahims; deputy rector of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak, Associate Prof. Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin, as well as Angeline Chia Poh Lin and Chia Swee Choo.
During the ceremony, Wan Junaidi also conferred Darjah Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) to 10 recipients and Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B) to 24 recipients.
Meanwhile, 19 individuals received the Darjah Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), while 15 others were conferred the Darjah Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
The medal with the highest number of recipients at this ceremony was the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T), awarded to 34 recipients.
The ceremony concluded with the conferment of Darjah Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S) to 25 recipients.
