SARIKEI: A total of 164 recipients from 17 government departments and agencies were honoured at the ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ presentation ceremony here today, in recognition of their dedication and service.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg presented the awards during the ceremony held at Dewan Majlis, Sarawak Government Administrative Centre, Sarikei Division.
The ceremony was the sixth ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ presentation held this year, bringing together recipients from 11 state government departments and agencies and six federal agencies.
Among the recipients, three were specifically recognised for having served for 37 years – Philip Sanjan from the Sarawak Agriculture Department, Abdul Latip Osen from the Sarawak National Registration Department, and Dacy Christopher Ugot from the Sarawak Education Department.
According to the programme book, the recipients represented a broad cross-section of the public service, with the Sarawak Education Department recording the largest group at 28 recipients, followed by the Sarawak Health Department with 24 and the Sarawak Land and Survey Department with 18.
The Sarikei District Council had 16 recipients, followed by the Sarikei Resident’s Office (14), Sarawak Forestry Department (13), Natural Resources and Environment Board (12) and Sarawak Agriculture Department (10).
They were followed by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department Sarawak with seven recipients, Sarawak Information Department (six), Public Works Department Sarawak (four) and Sarawak Rivers Board (three).
The Sarawak Veterinary Services Department, Sarawak Syariah Judiciary Department, Sarawak Immigration Department and Sarawak National Registration Department each had two recipients, while the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department had one.
The ‘Pingat Perkhidmatan Setia’ ceremony recognises public servants for their long-standing commitment, loyalty and dedication throughout their years of service.
