KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) is sending a 17-member contingent to compete in the Majlis Sukan Universiti Malaysia (MASUM) Championship 2025 from September 15 to 21.
The championship, to be hosted by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Universiti Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), will see UNIMAS’ athletes taking part in four sports – silat olahraga, archery, chess and taekwondo.
The contingent is aiming for one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
The flag handover ceremony was officiated by UNIMAS’ Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Ts. Dr Al-Khalid Othman, who expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to perform beyond expectation.
MASUM, a key event on the national university sports calendar, provides a platform for athletes to hone their talents and represent their institutions in line with the Higher Education Sports Policy’s vision of producing ‘Thinking Athletes’.
