SERIAN: A father and daughter suffered first-degree burns to their chest and thigh respectively after their house caught fire at Kampung Bunan, Jalan Serian-Mongkos on Saturday at 7.20pm.
Prior to the incident, a power outage occurred at the house which prompted the occupants to use candles as a source of light.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the incident was believed to have been caused by a gasoline spill which caught fire from the candles.
The victims were taken to a nearby clinic by members of the public for treatment.
