
BINTULU: A team of enforcement officers from One-Stop Compliance Centre (OSCC) Teluk Batu of Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) stumbled upon illegal logging activity during their routine patrolling at Sg. Anau, Tatau on Tuesday afternoon.
This was disclosed in a SFC statement explaining that a search of the area uncovered pile of 200 pieces of logs buried in the ground believed to have been illegally extracted from a nearby forest. None of the logs bear any official marking.
“A report has been lodged at Tatau police station. The case will be handed over to the Forest Department for its further investigation and disposal,” added the statement.
