KUCHING: The Betong Division Football Association (BDFA) has decided to postpone the 2025 Betong League to avoid unforeseen scheduling conflicts.

BDFA president Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini (pic) explained that the decision was made to prevent clashes with the 2025 Sarawak Premier League, which is set to kick off at the end of September.

“If we proceed with the Betong League, there will definitely be a conflict in terms of venue usage,” Abang Suhordie told Arena Suara Sarawak.

He added that the association would prioritise the smooth running of the Sarawak Premier League before rescheduling the Betong League.

BDFA is also facing manpower constraints to manage the tournament should it be held as initially planned.

Abang Suhordie said the decision will be communicated to all relevant parties soon.

In the meantime, he noted that the association may consider hosting a shorter event, possibly a multi-day carnival, after the conclusion of the Sarawak Premier League.
