KUCHING: A total of 21 development projects under the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA) have been completed while 16 others are currently underway in the Ulu Rajang region.
URDA chairman Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said a coordination meeting on Monday (Jan 12) provided a platform to review current progress and coordinate the implementation of development projects under the agency.
He said the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) also presented the latest status of state-funded projects during the discussion.
“Of the 42 projects handed over, 21 have been completed, 16 are currently under implementation, while five will be retendered to ensure effective execution and timely project delivery,” he said in a Facebook statement.
Nanta, who is Works Minister and Kapit MP, said discussions also focused on infrastructure planning, community well-being and a phased, more sustainable development direction for the Ulu Rajang region.
He added that sustained cooperation among agencies remained key to ensuring development initiatives delivered direct benefits to rural communities.
