KUCHING: Preparations are underway for the highly anticipated 21st MATTA Sarawak Fair, set to take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on April 5 to 6.

Organised by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Sarawak Chapter, the event promises to showcase a vibrant array of travel opportunities with a strong emphasis on sustainable tourism.

This year’s fair is expected to be a landmark event for both travel enthusiasts and industry professionals, with MATTA Sarawak announcing Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), comprising Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and MASWings, as the official airline partner.

The event’s growth is further bolstered by RHB Bank Bhd’s role as the bank partner for the 21st Sarawak MATTA Fair, alongside strong support from the broader industry, which is expected to drive significant tourism growth in the region.

“This event is more than just about offering travel packages,” said Oscar Choo, Chairman of MATTA Sarawak Chapter.

“It’s about giving back to the communities that enrich our travel experiences.

“We champion sustainable tourism, encouraging travellers to be responsible and respectful guests.”

Visitors can look forward to a diverse selection of destinations, travel packages, and experiences tailored for every type of traveller from solo adventurers to families and business travellers.

Exhibitors, including airlines, tour operators and national tourist organisations, offer exclusive deals with a focus on safety and sustainability.

In addition to these deals, the fair will provide valuable insights into the future of travel, with licensed tour operators sharing their expertise on sustainability and emerging trends.

MATTA Sarawak is committed to empowering attendees with the latest information to enable informed travel decisions.

“We invite everyone to dream, plan and explore their next adventure at the MATTA Fair,” Oscar added.

Attendees can also look forward to lucky draws sponsored by participating organisations, with details to be revealed in the lead-up to the event, and admission is free, with doors open from 10 am to 10 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
