KUCHING: Lodge National Secondary School has once again proven its academic prowess with an outstanding performance in the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations.
A total of 23 students scored straight As, with Joelle Marissa Hii Siang Ying and Zoe Kho Qi leading the cohort as top scorers – each securing 9A+ in all subjects.
The school recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in seven subjects, with English emerging as a strong area – 95 per cent of students obtained an A.
Distinction rates were also impressive in core Science and Mathematics subjects: Mathematics (85 per cent), Chemistry (60.0 per cent), Additional Mathematics (56.84 per cent), Science (56.00 per cent), Biology (47.57 per cent), and Physics (47.37 per cent).
Joelle, who also achieved 7As in the IGCSE examinations, attributed her success to maintaining a positive mindset, strategic planning, and balancing her academic responsibilities with rest and personal interests.
“I believe that effective time management and taking care of your well-being are key to staying focused,” she said.
Meanwhile, Zoe shared that discipline and consistency were central to her academic journey.
“Sustained effort makes a big difference. I also believe it’s important to take part in school events to build friendships and create lasting memories,” she said.
The school commended the efforts of students, parents and teachers, stating that the strong results were a reflection of their collective commitment and perseverance.
