SIMUNJAN: A total of 23 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects worth RM3.05 million have been approved for the Simunjan constituency for this year.
Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said the funds would be used to upgrade and construct new community halls and village halls, build new housing lanes, and develop new drainage systems, among other initiatives.
“It is hoped that these projects will benefit the residents, especially those in villages and longhouses, providing them with greater comfort,” he said to reporters during a RTP project site visit here recently.
Additionally, Awla said the RTP allocation would spur development across the constituency, driving progress and bringing development to rural areas throughout Sarawak.
“This development plan is crucial for the government’s efforts to bridge the development gap between rural and urban areas,” he added.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation and patience from all parties to ensure these efforts achieve their targets and benefits everyone.
In addition to these 23 projects, another 11 projects valued at RM1.95 million have been approved and will be implemented in Zone 4 Rangawan, Sadong Jaya.
