MIRI: The Miri Division Gawai 2024 competition has revealed its 24 finalists, who will compete in four distinct categories at the grand final on May 21 at the Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club here.
These finalists emerged from a competitive pool of 41 participants during the semi-finals held last night (May 18).
The finalists for the Kumang Iban category are Racheal Lorraine Anchum, Pretty Endriana Sedu Asun, Sherene Sarina Jaya, Viviana Uring Joseph, Fenella Natasha Rangka and Cindy Cloudia Buyong.
Competing in the Belawan-Keling category are Sebastian Lahang Anthony, Larry Walter Brauh Dian, Randle Rafael, Indra Irawan Hendry, Hakkinen Lewis and Alexsen Amir Adam.
The Dayung Sangon category will see Delsye Desmond Daie, Eunice James Cook, Hilda Marie Benard Ralphie, Kezia Kirsteen James, Nurlaila Najwa Abdullah and Nurrul Shazwanie Sandra Zawawi in the final showdown.
Finalists for the Keligit Orang Ulu category are Audrey Dacklynn Alex, Krissalinda Kisun Yordanus, Grace Suling Belare, Angelynna Aren Garry Hassim, Jessie Ulung Jeffry and Elvy Ann Hosea.
The winners of each category will receive a cash prize of RM3,000 and a scholarship worth RM15,000 from Fajar College. The first runners-up will be awarded RM2,500 and a scholarship worth RM10,000, while the second runners-up will receive RM2,000 and a scholarship worth RM7,000.
Additionally, three consolation prizes of RM1,000 and a scholarship worth RM3,000 will also be awarded.
