SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has become the focal point of a four-day academic boot camp aimed at strengthening SPM examination readiness for rural students.
The Sci-Math Camp 2025, organised by the Simunjan District Education Office (PPD Simunjan) under the Sarawak Education Enhancement Programme (SEEP), was sponsored by DUN N25 Simunjan and the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak.
According to Simunjan District Education Officer Hasbi Ancheh, 240 students from SMK Sri Sadong, SMK Sebuyau, SMK Gedong, and SMK Simunjan No. 1 were selected for intensive learning sessions covering six key subjects: Science, Mathematics, English, History, Biology, and Chemistry.
He expressed appreciation to the Faculty of Language and Communication Education, Unimas, for its ongoing partnership in delivering impactful community education programmes.
Senior Principal Assistant Director of the Social Science Division, Sarawak Education Department (JPN Sarawak), Edwin Apok, praised PPD Simunjan’s initiative to strategically collaborate with universities like Unimas as a means to improve academic outcomes.
“For PPD Simunjan, JPN Sarawak, together with MEITD, will continue to help not only in increasing the SPM pass rate but also in driving excellent achievement across all subjects,” he said during the closing ceremony.
