The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said they received a distress call at 6.10pm, prompting a response from the Kidurong fire station team with assistance from the Bintulu station.

Upon arrival, firefighters found two two-story semi-permanent houses completely engulfed in flames, fortunately without any casualties.

“The fire was successfully controlled at 6.45pm and completely extinguished by 8.30pm,” it said

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are still under investigation by the fire department.
