BETONG: A total of 27 projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for the Betong parliamentary constituency are scheduled for implementation next year, says MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu.
He said the projects will benefit three State Legislative Assembly (DUN) areas: Saribas, Bukit Saban, and Layar.
“For the Betong parliamentary area under my RTP allocation, 27 projects have been listed for implementation in 2026, covering DUN Saribas, Layar, and Bukit Saban,” he said during the Betong Division 2026 RTP Project Listing Workshop held at a hotel in Kuching on Monday (June 10).
Dr Richard said the proposed projects will focus on basic infrastructure and public amenities, including the construction and upgrading of village roads, drainage systems, sports and recreational facilities, and other community infrastructure aimed at improving the well-being of local residents.
He expressed hope that the planning efforts carried out during the workshop would lay a solid foundation for the effective and high-impact execution of RTP projects in 2026.
“These initiatives will contribute to improving the standard of living and overall well-being of the rural population, particularly in the Betong Division.”
The workshop was organised by the Betong Resident’s Office through its Strategic Planning and Project Implementation Section.
Its objective was to coordinate and systematise RTP proposals to ensure each project delivers meaningful and lasting benefits to rural communities.
