MULU: A total of RM442,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund was distributed to 28 recipients in the Mulu constituency as part of the Sarawak government’s continuous commitment to rural communities.
Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala said the MRP fund is a vital mechanism for ensuring that government assistance and development initiatives reach grassroots communities.
“As of July 2025, a total of RM2.984 million has been distributed under the MRP allocation for Mulu, covering 216 approved applications.
“This reflects the government’s commitment not only to listen to the people but also take real action, especially for those in remote areas,” he said during the cheque presentation ceremony held recently.
Among the recipients were the Miri Sepak Takraw Association, Long Atip Residents’ Association, Highlanders Sports Club, Sarawak Berawan Association, Long Silat Women’s Committee, PDK Sunflower Miri, SMK Marudi Alumni Association, and the Bario Miri Single Mothers’ Association, with a combined grant total of RM64,000 presented during the event.
