KUCHING: The 2025 Mukah Division X-Tive Futsal Championship is set to heat up the courts of Kampung Boom Oya, Mukah this weekend (Aug 2-3), as 28 club teams go head-to-head in what promises to be a fiercely contested two-day event.

Tournament chairman Ahmad Zain Ali confirmed that the championship, jointly organised by the Sarawak Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) and Mukah YT Football Club (MYTEAM), is part of the Sarawak X-Tive 2025 initiative to promote grassroots sports.

“We’re expecting a highly competitive tournament, as many of the participating teams are fielding seasoned and skilled players,” Zain told Arena Suara Sarawak.

A draw to determine groupings was held on Tuesday at the Mukah Youth Activity Centre.

The championship offers attractive prizes for the top-performing teams.

The eventual champions will walk away with RM2,500 in cash, a trophy, and medals.

The runners-up will receive RM1,500, while both semi-final losers will be awarded RM500 each, along with trophies and medals as joint third-place winners.

In addition, RM100 and a trophy will be presented to the tournament’s Best Player and Best Goalkeeper, further adding to the excitement of the weekend showdown.
