BAU: A total of 290 students from SMK Paku took part in the JIWA@Kelab Malaysiaku SMK Paku 2025 programme, injecting youthful energy into the event jointly organised by the Bau district Information Department (JAPEN) and the school.

Held at the school’s multipurpose hall, the initiative aimed to promote national unity, strengthen patriotism and raise awareness on current issues among students through engaging and informative activities.

Principal Anek Apok, who officiated at the programme, said it served as a crucial platform to expose students to the government’s initiatives and instil good values in line with the Malaysia Madani concept.

“This programme leaves a positive impact not only on Kelab Malaysiaku members, but the entire school community.

“It promotes safe internet practices, encourages appreciation of the Rukun Negara, and supports the ‘Tak Nak Pada Buli’ anti-bullying campaign,” he said.

He added that the programme’s interactive segments including casual dialogues, talks, distribution of printed materials and Q&A sessions, helped deepen students’ understanding of national identity and civic responsibility.

Among those present were Bau Information officer Sumardi Sugiman, Kelab Malaysiaku chief advisor Shertella Willian Bakar and club coordinator Denis Etem.

The initiative is part of JAPEN’s ongoing efforts to bring government outreach programmes closer to schools and empower students to become responsible citizens with a strong sense of patriotism.
