TATAU: A tragic accident between a Proton Wira and a Toyota Camry took three lives at KM52, Jalan Tatau-Bintulu yesterday around 1.30 pm. The three victims killed on the spot were the driver of the Proton Wira, Bakie Anak Ladin, 33, Jeanety Liah Liana Anak Lily, a nine-year-old girl and a woman, Sai Anak Imong whose particulars are not known.
A fourth victim, Lily Anak Kawan suffered injury.
According to eye witnessess, the Proton Wira had first crashed into a Proton Ezora before it skidded into the path of the oncoming Toyota Camry.
The bodies of the three victims and the fourth injured victim were all trapped inside the Proton Wira.
A team from the Tatau Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene. The three dead bodies were retrieved and handed over to the police and ambulance which arrived shortly while the fourth injured victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyato Camry and a passenger escaped with only minor injuries.
