PADAWAN: A total of 30 rural homes in the Mambong constituency, involving 17 villages, have been identified to receive aid under Phase 2 of the Minor Rural Project – Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Project (MRP-PPRMS) for the year 2025.

The contractor balloting ceremony for the implementation of this project was held at the Mambong Constituency Service Centre and officiated by Deputy Minister for Transport, who is also the Mambong Assemblyman, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

In a brief address, he explained that the PPRMS project is a key initiative by the Sarawak Government aimed at assisting rural residents in need of basic home repairs.

“Each house will receive an allocation of RM15,000, and no SST tax will be imposed for the implementation of this project.

“Appointed contractors are reminded to discuss and obtain written consent from homeowners before commencing any work,” he said.

“An official scope of work form will be used and may be revoked if the homeowner refuses to cooperate.”

Dr Jerip also stressed that building materials may be withdrawn if there is no commitment from the recipient, and the project plaque installed after completion must not be removed by the homeowner.

He added that contractors are also advised to take photographs as evidence that the work has been properly completed.

“This project not only has a direct impact on the people but also reflects the Sarawak government’s ongoing commitment to developing rural areas,” he said.
