A total of 303 out of 987 state-funded physical projects under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) have been completed, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
Uggah said the remaining 684 projects are still at various stages of implementation and the cumulative expenditure from the year 2021 up to April this year was RM27.7 billion against the total 12MP ceiling of RM37.98 billion.
“987 are physical projects while the remaining 400 are non-physical, which includes grants, contributions, investments, programmes, and events.
“The government will continue to facilitate the swift implementation of programmes and projects, ensuring that the targets outlined in the 12MP are accomplished, while also developing proactive approaches to manage challenges related to current and future project execution,” he said in his ministerial winding up speech during the DUN Sitting here today (May 28).
For Rural Transformation Projects (RTP), Uggah, who is also the Second Minister for Finance and New Economy said a total of 13,366 RTPs with an allocation of RM2.06 billion have been approved under the 12MP period.
As of April 2025, he said a total of 7,490 projects or 56 per cent have been completed while the remaining 5,876 projects or 44 per cent, are still at various stages of implementation.
“The cumulative expenditure from the year 2021 up to April 2025 was RM1.66 billion or 81 per cent against the total approved allocation,” he added.
On the People’s Project, he said that it received RM3.16 billion allocation to fund the implementation of 735 projects from 2021 until April 2025.
Of this total, he said 648 or 88 per cent are physical projects, while the remaining 87 or 12 per cent are nonphysical projects.
“To date, 351 projects or 48 per cent have been completed with RM2.4 billion expended, while the remaining 252 projects are at various stages of implementation,” said Uggah.
