KUCHING: The Sarawak Road Transport Department (RTD) issued 308 notices and seized 15 vehicles during enforcement operations that saw 763 vehicles inspected around the city on Thursday (Jan 29).
The department said the operations involved ‘Ops Khas Motosikal’ and daily enforcement activities carried out through patrols and static checks.
Enforcement was conducted at a static roadblock along Jalan Datuk Haji Daud, Matang, involving both directions.
RTD said offences detected included driving without a valid licence, non-compliant registration plates, and unauthorised vehicle modifications.
Ten motorcycles and five cars were seized for offences involving expired road tax and the absence of valid insurance coverage.
Sarawak RTD assured such operations would continue to be intensified and warned that no compromise would be given to road users who fail to comply with traffic regulations.
