
KUCHING: A total of RM252,000 worth of grants from Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) were presented to 35 branches of Urusetia Saudara Kita throughout the State on Wednesday night.
The grants were presented by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg in conjunction with the Khatam Al-Quran and breaking-of-fast with Islamic Agencies at Dewan Hikmah, Petra Jaya here.
During the event, a contribution worth RM17,200 were also presented to 25 students of Saudara Kita class from Kuching and Kota Samarahan division, 47 needy people from Kuching and Kota Samarahan division, 13 children of Laman Kasih Kuching and one family of Baytul Hidayah Kuching.
Also present were Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Sarawak Islamic Council chairman, Datu Misnu Taha.
