355 Cyberjaya College graduates receive scrolls

KUCHING: A total of 355 graduates from Cyberjaya College Kuching marked the culmination of their higher education journey during the institution’s 11th Convocation Ceremony held at Dewan Kompleks Islam Sarawak here today.

Of the total, 180 graduates were from the Diploma in Healthcare, followed by 24 from the Diploma in Environmental Health, 15 from the Diploma in Physiotherapy, 62 from the Diploma in Medical Lab Technology, 27 from the Diploma in Business Studies, and 47 from the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health.

University of Cyberjaya Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr David Leonard Whitford, praised the Class of 2025 for demonstrating resilience, adaptability and dedication throughout their studies.

“Your journey has been one of hard work, perseverance and growth. You have learned to think critically and adapt to change, skills that matter most in today’s world,” he said in his speech when officiating at the event.

Whitford reminded graduates that their achievements carry a broader purpose.

“A diploma is more than a qualification, but a license to succeed and a privilege to serve humanity.

“Go forward with passion and use your knowledge to uplift your communities and nation,” he said.

He also encouraged them to embrace lifelong learning, noting that success is rarely linear.

“Life does not require you to be perfect; it requires you to be persistent,” he added.

The ceremony then featured valedictorian, Nur Atiqah Amerah Abdul Samah, recipient of the Best Graduate Award, who delivered an inspiring speech reflecting on her three-year journey.

“There were days when deadlines, assignments and college activities felt overwhelming, but those challenges shaped our resilience.

“Despite the hardships and the 11.59 pm submissions, we made it,” she said, quoting the Iban saying ‘Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban’ to underline the importance of perseverance.

Nur Atiqah expressed heartfelt gratitude to her parents, lecturers, friends and the college community for their unwavering support throughout her studies.

Also present were Cyberjaya College Kuching Registrar, Ong Siang Eing; Head of Academic, Fatimah Elie; staff members and invited guests.
