MUKAH: Thirty-six contractors are interested to take part in the redevelopment of SK Kampung Tellian.

All turned up at the briefing and site visit which was held at the Computer Room of the school on August 14, 2017.

The briefing was about the construction of 24-classroom building and other facilities of the school which has been a long standing issue for the area for more than a decade.

Mukah District Education 0fficer, Haji Bugin Haji Ragoon, was surprised by the overwhelming response from the contractors wanting to contribute on the project.

“We were only informed to prepare for 30 chairs to be placed at the computer room of SK Kpg Tellian for the briefing. However, those who came was more than what was expected,” he said.

Bugin was aware that the project was the most awaited one for the citizens of Kampung Tellian Daya (Tellian Ulu) and Kampung Seri Tellian (Tellian Tengah) for about 15 years already.

“It is hoped that when it is implemented in the future, the project will go smoothly without becoming a ‘sick project’ and be constructed with the conventional approach and not Industrial Building System(IBS),” he added.

The school building was declared unsafe for occupation and the citizens of the school were told to move to the temporary one, squatted at SK Mukah located about 5-kilometres away from the site about 15 years ago until now.

Following to that event, the parents of the pupils had to spend more for transporting their children to the school.

It was learnt that the architect of the project is Asaseni Sdn Bhd, while, the consultant is Perunding Optima and M.E.C  Engineering Technologies Sdn Bhd.
