KUCHING: A total of 40 teams have confirmed their participation in the Second Sarawak Inter-Secondary Schools U17 Boys Futsal Championship 2025.

The tournament will be held from May 10 to May 11 at the Sarawak State Sports School (SMK Tabuan Jaya).

Organising chairman, Sylvester Lim, said this year’s tournament has seen overwhelming interest.

“The teams will be representing their own districts.

“We have schools coming from Kuching, Samarahan, Padawan, Lundu and the furthest from Miri, travelling all the way to Kuching to compete for the championship,” he told Sarawak Tribune when contacted today.

Lim also expressed hope that the Ministry of Education will take notice and consider including futsal in the MSSM curriculum.

“This tournament is held once a year, and to date, there are no other similar futsal tournaments in Sarawak.

“We aim to gather youths who are passionate about futsal, and provide a platform for them to showcase their skills,” he said.
