TANJONG MANIS: A total of 41 schools in the Tanjong Manis parliamentary constituency will receive 65-inch smart televisions from the Tanjong Manis Service Centre to support the implementation of digital-based learning in schools.
Tanjong Manis MP Datuk Ir Yusuf Abd Wahab said each school would receive one or two smart TVs, depending on its student population and individual needs.
He said the contributions would be carried out in phases, with 25 schools receiving the smart TVs under Phase One, while the remaining 16 schools would receive theirs under Phase Two before the end of this year.
“In this rapidly developing digital era, the education sector requires us to make use of the latest technology.
“The learning process is no longer limited to textbooks and blackboards, as visual content and interactive multimedia have now become key tools in attracting students’ interest and enhancing their understanding,” he said.
He said this when commenting on the Tanjong Manis Service Centre’s initiative to enhance educational technology facilities in schools within the constituency during the Bina Komuniti Tanjong Manis 2026 CSR programme at the Sebayang Community Hall and SK Mupong here today.
He added that the contribution was expected to support schools in providing a learning environment aligned with the Digital Classroom concept.
“With these facilities, I hope teachers will be able to deliver digital-based teaching materials, interactive videos and the latest learning applications more effectively.
“They can also help attract students’ interest and improve their focus throughout the teaching and learning (T&L) process in the classroom,” he said.
Yusuf said the initiative reflected the Tanjong Manis Service Centre’s commitment to helping improve educational facilities, particularly in terms of the use of digital technology in schools.
He said the smart TVs were expected to add value to the teaching and learning process by enabling teachers to integrate visual elements, videos, digital presentations and interactive materials into their lessons.
The initiative is also expected to create a more engaging and interactive learning environment suited to current educational needs, while strengthening schools’ readiness to embrace the rapid development of educational technology.
With the phased implementation, all 41 schools in the Tanjong Manis parliamentary constituency are expected to receive the facilities by the end of this year.
To date, two schools — Sekolah Kebangsaan Sebayang and Sekolah Kebangsaan Mupong — have received the smart TVs.
