BAU: Forty-eight organisations including five schools in Tasik Biru Constituency here yesterday received minor rural project (MRP) funds amounting to RM290,350.77.
Having over the cheques to the recipients at the DUN Tasik Biru office was Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep (pic).
Aside from the schools, 43 other recipients of the MRP funds are 30 Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs), non-governmental organisations (11) and churches (two).
Earlier, before the presentation ceremony, Jinep told the recipients that Tasik Biru Constituency encompasses a vast area comprising 48 villages.
“My office, either through my walkabout to every nook and corner of the constituency or direct submission to the office, received too many of all kinds of request.
“In order to be fair to all the areas under Tasik Biru’s jurisdiction, I’ve no choice but to divide the MRP funds fairly based on priority,” he added.
