MIRI: A man escaped unhurt when the four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle he was driving plunged into a drain along Jalan Miri-Bintulu here, Sunday night.
The victim was said to be heading to the city centre from Bumiko when the accident occurred at around 9.00pm. Upon arriving at the accident scene, the 4WD suddenly went out of control and skidded of the road before plunging into the drain.
“The victim was fortunate to escape uninjured in the incident,” sources said.
It was believed that slippery road surface due to rain was the cause of the accident. Traffic policemen were investigating the cause of the accident.
