MUKAH: About 50 community leaders yesterday (Sunday) attended ‘Randau Solidariti Komuniti’ here.
The half-day programme featured talks on current issues presented by government departments and agencies.
Among the issues highlighted were unity, drug abuse menace, community safety and family solidarity amid Covid-19 pandemic.
Acting Mukah district officer Peleadzman Ahip explained that the programme aimed to strengthen unity and enhance caring culture in the community.
“Community leaders have a important role to play in helping to achieve the objectives of the programme,” he said at the event.
Former Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo officiated at the closing of the programme at a multipurpose hall in Kampung Petanak here.
Peleadzman said the programme was supposed to be held last month but was postponed due to certain factors.
