BAU: A 55-year-old man died after he was believed to have consumed weedkiller at Wind Cave, Jalan Taiton here on Thursday (May 14).
Bau police chief Act Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the victim, identified as Lee Khoi Kiong, was pronounced dead at 11.11 am yesterday (May 15) at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
“No suspicious injuries were found on the body during initial examination,” he said in a statement.
“The case has been classified as a sudden death report pending post-mortem results,” he added.
Mohd Haide said the victim had left his home in Sebuku around noon, informing his family he was going out to look for work.
At about 7.15 pm, he contacted his wife and informed her that he was at Wind Cave and had consumed weedkiller.
The victim’s daughter later contacted Bau Hospital, and an ambulance arrived at about 8 pm to take him for treatment.
He was taken to Bau Hospital before being referred to SGH at about 11 pm.
