57 students honoured at Prodigy Royal Festival

KUCHING: A total of 57 students were honoured at the Prodigy Royal Festival (PRG) 2023 – A Celebration of Music and Literacy, during an award ceremony held at the Chemsain Auditorium here today.

The recipients comprised 24 students who received the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) & Trinity Distinction Award, 28 students who received the ABRSM & Trinity Merit Award, and five students who received the ABRSM Pass Award.

Royal Patron Euroasia Association of Performing Arts Tunku Zain Al-Abidin Ibni Tuanku Mukhriz presented the award to the recipients.

Earlier, at the officiating ceremony, Tunku Zain said that Euroasia Prodigy will try to work with the academic sector and government to implement various initiatives and programmes that support musicians, promote music education, and enhance the overall music ecosystem.

“It is important to have cooperation with the government to support the music, the culture and the arts onto the level that they deserve today,” he said.

Moreover, he expressed his pride in Euroasia’s current accomplishments, particularly in their serious commitment to delivering music education.

Additionally, the guests were also entertained by the performance of Tunku Zain during the award ceremony.

Also present were Chemsain director Ir Brian Chong, Dance Academy Kuching director January Chan and TVS chief executive officer Mohd Dzulfrizal Zulkapli.
