
LABUAN: Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilots held a nine-minute demonstration for 60 media practitioners here on Thursday.
The demonstration was carried out by three F-18 Hornets and three Hawk, shooting targets as well as several members of Special Air Force (PASKAU) moving down from EC725AP helicopter.
The demonstration was held in conjunction with “Hari TUDM Bersama Media” programme to coincide with 59th anniversary of RMAF on 1 June.
Not only that, the media also had the chance to experience a ride on Airbus A400M aircraft departing from Subang RMAF base besides the CN-235 aircraft departing from Kuching RMAF base.
Present at the event were RMAF Chief Datuk Seri Affendi Buang, Air Operations Commander Lieutenant General Datuk Abdul Muttalib Abdul Wahab as well as senior officers and pilots.
Affendi when met by the media said, the programme was an appreciation to the media who have always been the pillars of success and deliver the latest information of RMAF to the public.
“RMAF’s assets in defending national sovereignty are always ready in any situation and time to deal with any eventuality.
“RMAF appreciated the cooperation extended by the media over the years and I hope this cooperation will continue to be strengthened in the future,” he said.
He added that the RMAF will continue to provide the best service to ensure national sovereignty in line with the slogan of this year’s celebration “Kuasa Udara Tonggak Kedaulatan Negara”.
