KUCHING: Lodge Kindergarten and Lodge National Primary School recently held a charity food drive at the school here.

Over 600 students participated in the food drive, which was held in conjunction with Lodge School’s Kindness Month, launched earlier this month. Other activities included Old Newspaper Day, Be Kind to Environment and a visit to the old folk’s home.

Among the items collected were noodles, soy sauce, rice, varieties of biscuits and canned food, etc. All the contribution from the food drive was presented to Hope Place, a local non-governmental organisation in Kuching.

The contribution was presented by the school headmistress Phang Cheng Ling to representatives of Hope Place.

Meanwhile, Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan also gave a talk to the students on the importance of doing charity and helping in community work.
