TO date, a total of 64 land lots owned by the Federal Lands Commissioner (FLC), covering 62.9 hectares or 155 acres, have been returned to the Sarawak government.

Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said all the lots were officially registered as State Land on Apr 1, 2024 and Nov 14, 2025.
“The government will ensure these lands are utilised for development that meets the current needs of the areas involved,” Len Talif said in reply to Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus in the DUN today.
He also said there were several factors that contributed to the delay in developing the land previously under FLC.
“These include no funds or allocations that were approved by the federal government for development on the land; and there are other lands nearby that have already been developed for the same purpose,” he said.
Len said that of the 64 parcels returned, one is located within the Bukit Semuja constituency.
“There is one parcel located within the Bukit Semuja, namely Lot 877 Block 9 Melikin Land District, which was originally alienated to the FLC on Feb 28, 1974 for use as a health clinic,” he said.
